Many states eased mask requirements for those who are vaccinated after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advised that fully vaccinated people could go without masks in most indoor and outdoor settings. As COVID-19 cases keep rising, Ontario Premier Doug Ford says the province is 'staring down the barrel of another lockdown.' Others warn its already inevitable, but what a lockdown looks like. Some states continue to require the use of masks for unvaccinated people, and some governors are still mandating that businesses observe social distancing rules, even as they lift capacity limits. Jay Inslee said, 'We now are in another wave you might call it the fifth wave, but whatever you call it, these numbers are going up dramatically, and that is most concerning.' Inslee continues to advocate for people to get vaccinated, and students and staff at K-12 schools will be required to wear masks in the fall.
